Dr. Christina Shepherd:
Dr. Christina Shepherd is a Los Angeles native who grew up with a passion for animals that continues to grow throughout her career. She enjoys emergency medicine’s potential for significant or lifesaving benefits to sick or injured animal patients.
Dr. Shepherd completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of California Santa Cruz and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Science. She worked in Nevada, Texas and the San Fernando Valley before joining East Valley Emergency Pet Clinic as both an emergency clinician and medical director.
Dr. Shepherd is also trained in veterinary acupuncture, rehabilitation (physical therapy) and medical manipulation (chiropractic). When applicable, she utilizes these additional skills on her patients to assist in their stability and comfort.
In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors through triathlon training and hiking.
Dr. Chu was born and raised in Taiwan. She attended the University of California Los Angeles after finishing her high school in Taiwan. It was during that time Dr. Chu found her passion in veterinary medicine. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree at Western University of Health and Sciences. In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Chu has a special interest in small mammal medicine. She is fluent in English and Mandarin. Dr. Chu’s hobbies include cooking, baking, travelling and spending time with her two cats, Gigi and Eggy.
